James “Tripp” Adams III
Tripp Adams founded True North Management in 1997. His construction and development career has spanned over forty years. Tripp’s vast experience working in the many diverse fields of construction and real estate development companies in New York, Connecticut and Colorado have made him especially proficient in understanding and implementing the dynamics of managing and organizing every aspect of the construction business from land planning, entitlements, approvals, construction, construction management, project management, Owner’s Representation and financial planning.
In the early 70’s he discovered his passion for building and development working as an apprentice carpenter quickly advancing to journeyman carpenter launching his career in custom home building. In the “go go” years of the eighties, he joined a prominent development and investment firm in New Canaan, Connecticut where he served as Senior Project and Construction Manager in charge of new development, overseeing millions of dollars of construction and property development. While serving in that capacity, he gained diverse and in-depth knowledge of commercial and residential real estate development while furthering his formal study of construction and project management while attending school in Manhattan, NY.

Senior Project Manager
John Perko is a Senior Project Manager for True North Management. His role in the company is to manage day to day operations and focuses on, but is not limited to, financial analysis of proposals, draws and invoices, developing cash flow models, review and preparation of contract documents, and quality assurance in both design and construction. John is an actively involved team member in all of the True North projects in Aspen, Pitkin County, and Basalt.
John’s construction career began in Manhattan. After completing his Masters Degree in Construction Management, John joined Sciame Construction of New York, NY. At Sciame, John was part of a Manhattan based construction management firm well known in New York for their ability to build highly designed and technically sophisticated projects, on time and on budget. The Greene Street Luxury Condominiums in SoHo, the Fulton Street Lofts in the Financial District, and the complete renovation of the United Jewish Appeal were a few of the projects John had the pleasure to be involved with while at Sciame.
Prior to his beginnings in the construction profession, John had a distinguished academic career. John Graduated Summa Cum Laude, top in his class, from Arizona State University, with a Bachelor of Science and Engineering in Civil Engineering. He was recognized by ASU as The Distinguished Graduate in Civil Engineering, and was also awarded Student of the Year by the Arizona Society of Civil Engineers. John chose to continue his academic pursuits and began graduate work at Columbia University, in the City of New York, where he was also granted a Teaching Assistant position. John graduated with a Masters of Science and Engineering in Construction Management from Columbia, and was recognized as an Outstanding Teaching Assistant by the Engineering Department.
John is full of passion for life. He enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, walking his two dogs, skiing in the winter, and whitewater rafting in the summer.
